Precautions For Hydraulic Cylinder Disassembly
Depressurize the hydraulic circuit: Before disassembling the hydraulic cylinder, it is crucial to depressurize the hydraulic circuit to prevent the sudden ejection of high-pressure oil. Start by loosening the hand wheel or pressure adjusting screw at the relief valve to unload the pressure oil. Then, cut off the power supply or power source to stop the hydraulic device from running. This ensures a safe working environment during disassembly.
Follow a specific disassembly sequence: Disassembly should be carried out in a systematic order, considering the structure and size of the hydraulic cylinder. Generally, start by draining the oil from both chambers of the hydraulic cylinder. Next, remove the cylinder head, followed by the piston and piston rod. When disassembling the cylinder head, use appropriate tools like keys or snap ring pliers for internal key connections, and avoid using flat shovels. If the cylinder has a flanged end cover, it should be removed using screws, and hammering or hard prying should be avoided. If the piston and piston rod are difficult to remove, do not force them out. Instead, investigate the cause of the difficulty before proceeding with disassembly.
Prevent damage to critical components: Take precautions to avoid damaging important components during disassembly. Be careful not to damage the top thread of the piston rod, the thread of the oil port, the surface of the piston rod, or the inner wall of the cylinder liner. When handling slender parts like piston rods, use skids or supports to maintain balance and prevent bending or deformation.
It is recommended to consult the manufacturer's instructions or seek guidance from experienced professionals when disassembling hydraulic cylinders.
